حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَائِطٍ مِنْ حِيطَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي قَوْلِ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: اللهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ. اللهُمَّ صَبْرًا وَعَلَى اللهِ التُّكْلَانُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, 'Uthman—meaning ibn Ghiyath—narrated to us, from Abu 'Uthman, from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in a garden from the gardens of al-Madina, and he mentioned the meaning of Yahya's hadith, except that he said in the words of 'Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him: "Allah is the One whose help is sought. O Allah, grant patience. And upon Allah is reliance."
