Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، أَوْ غَيْرُهُ (١) عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ: أُهْدِيَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَوْبٌ حَرِيرٌ، فَجَعَلْنَا نَلْمِسُهُ وَنَعْجَبُ مِنْهُ، وَنَقُولُ: مَا رَأَيْنَا ثَوْبًا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ وَأَلْيَنَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَيُعْجِبُكُمْ هَذَا؟ " قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا وَأَلْيَنُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that a silk cloth was presented to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). People began to marvel at its beauty and softness. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh in Paradise are far better and superior to this."
