حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ فَسَمِعَ الْمُسْتَوْرِدَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ وَلِيَ عَمَلًا (٢) فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ زَوْجَةً فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ، أَوْ خَادِمًا (٣) فَلْيَتَّخِذْ خَادِمًا، أَوْ مَسْكَنًا (٤) ، أَوْ دَابَّةً، فَلْيَتَّخِذْ، دَابَّةً، فَمَنْ، ، أَصَابَ شَيْئًا سِوَى ذَلِكَ، فَهُوَ غَالٌّ، أَوْ سَارِقٌ (١) " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: Whoever is appointed as a governor on our behalf and does not have a house in the relevant city, he may build a house; if he does not have a wife, he may marry; if he does not have a servant, he may keep one; if he does not have a mount, he may keep one. But whatever he takes beyond this, he will be considered a betrayer and a thief in the sight of Allah. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
