Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (١) ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَابِسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ، أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ: " يَا ابْنَ عَابِسٍ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ بِأَفْضَلِ مَا تَعَوَّذَ بِهِ الْمُتَعَوِّذُونَ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: بَلَى. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ وَأَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ هَاتَيْنِ السُّورَتَيْنِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Abas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "O Ibn Abas! Shall I not tell you about the most excellent words of seeking refuge, with which those who seek refuge do so?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), why not?" He said, "They are two surahs: Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas."
