Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ الْجُذَامِيِّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُسْلِمَةً، فَهِيَ فِدَاؤُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever frees a Muslim slave, it will become a means of his freedom from Hell.
