قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ: وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، وَأَظُنُّي (٢) قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ فِي الْمُذَاكَرَةِ فَلَمْ أَكْتُبْهُ، وَكَانَ بَكْرٌ يَنْزِلُ الْمَدِينَةَ، أَظُنُّهُ (٣) كَانَ فِي الْمِحْنَةِ كَانَ قَدْ ضُرِبَ عَلَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فِي كِتَابِهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْكِلَابِيِّ، أَنَّ (٤) مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ، ، الْعَيْنَيْنِ وِكَاءُ السَّهِ، فَإِذَا نَامَتِ الْعَيْنَانِ اسْتُطْلِقَ الْوِكَاءُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The eyes are the bond of the private parts; when the eyes sleep, the bond is loosened (and a person does not realize when wind passes from him)."
