Original Arabic
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ ضُمَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَكْرَهُ نِكَاحَ السِّرِّ حَتَّى يُضْرَبَ بِدُفٍّ، وَيُقَالَ: أَتَيْنَاكُمْ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ فَحَيُّونَا نُحَيِّيكُمْ " (١)، ، •
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hasan that the Prophet (peace be upon him) disliked secret marriages, to the extent that the duff should be played and it should be announced: "We have come to you, we have come to you, you congratulate us, we congratulate you."
