حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ فَضَالَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيَهُ بُرَيْدَةُ بْنُ الْحَصِيبِ فَقَالَ: ارْتَدَدْتَ (٢) عَنْ هِجْرَتِكَ يَا سَلَمَةُ؟ فَقَالَ: مَعَاذَ اللهِ، إِنِّي فِي إِذْنٍ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " ابْدُوا يَا أَسْلَمُ، فَتَنَسَّمُوا الرِّيَاحَ، وَاسْكُنُوا (٣) الشِّعَابَ "، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّا نَخَافُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنْ يَضُرَّنَا ذَلِكَ فِي هِجْرَتِنَا، قَالَ: " أَنْتُمْ مُهَاجِرُونَ، ، حَيْثُ كُنْتُمْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he came to Madinah Munawwarah, and met Buraidah bin Husaib. He said, “O Salamah! Have you turned your back on your migration? (That is, have you started living in the desert?)” He replied that he had permission from the Prophet (ﷺ). He said, “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: ‘O tribe of Aslam! Live in the villages and enjoy the pure and clean air, and reside in the valleys.’ The people said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! We fear that this might harm our migration.’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ‘Wherever you live, you will remain migrants.’”
