حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَلِيحِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أُمِرْتُ بِالسِّوَاكِ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُكْتَبَ عَلَيَّ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Wathilah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I have been commanded so frequently regarding the miswak that I began to fear it might become obligatory upon me.
