حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخُشَنِيُّ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ وَاثِلَةُ بْنُ الْأَسْقَعِ وَنَحْنُ نَبْنِي مَسْجِدَنَا، قَالَ: فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْنَا فَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُصَلَّى فِيهِ، بَنَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ " (١)، ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ هَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ،
Translation
English translation
Bishr bin Hayan says that once Wathilah bin Asqa’ came to us while we were constructing our mosque. He came to us, greeted us with salam, and said: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Whoever builds a mosque in which prayers are offered, Allah will build for him a house better than it in Paradise.
