Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ يَعْنِي الشَّافِعِيَّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا نَسَمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَائِرٌ يَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يُرْجِعَهُ اللهُ، ، تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِلَى جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The soul of a Muslim remains in the form of birds on the trees of Paradise until the Day of Resurrection when Allah will return it to its body.
