حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ، حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، عَمَّنْ، ، حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ، فَقُبِرَ لَيْلًا " فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُقْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّيْلِ، (١) حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَضْطَرُّوا إِلَى ذَلِكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), a man from Banu Udhrah passed away. The people buried him during the night. When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to know of this, he forbade burying anyone in the grave at night until his funeral prayer has been offered, except in case of necessity.
