Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا أَطَالَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَيْبَةَ، فَلَا يَطْرُقَنَّ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: When you enter the city at night after a long absence, do not go to your house without informing them.
