حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَأَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ عُقِرَ جَوَادُهُ، وَأُرِيقَ دَمُهُ " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْهِجْرَةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا كَرِهَ اللهُ "، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَأَيُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ، وَيَدِهِ "، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَمَا الْمُوجِبَتَانِ؟ قَالَ: " مَنْ مَاتَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ، ، الْجَنَّةَ، وَمَنْ مَاتَ يُشْرِكُ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا دَخَلَ النَّارَ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone asked the Prophet (ﷺ): O Messenger of Allah! Which prayer is the most virtuous? He replied: The long prayer. He asked the Prophet (ﷺ): O Messenger of Allah! Which jihad is the most virtuous? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: That of the person whose horse’s legs are cut and his own blood is shed. He asked: Which migration is the most virtuous? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: To abandon what Allah dislikes. He submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Which Islam is the best? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: That other Muslims are safe from his tongue and hand. He asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are the two things that make something obligatory? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever meets Allah in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever dies associating anyone with Allah will enter Hell.
