حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَبَّرَ عَبْدًا لَهُ، وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ " فَبَاعَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي دَيْنِ مَوْلَاهُ " (٣)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man made his slave a *mudabbar* (one who is to be freed after the master's death), and that man himself was in debt. The Prophet (ﷺ) sold the *mudabbar* slave in order to pay off his master's debt.
