Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّ رَأْسِي قُطِعَ، فَهُوَ يَتَجَحْدَلُ، وَأَنَا أَتْبَعُهُ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ذَاكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ، فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا، فَلَا يَقُصَّهَا عَلَى أَحَدٍ، وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "I saw in a dream as if my neck had been cut off, it was rolling ahead of me and I was following it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "This is from Satan. When any of you sees a disliked dream, he should not mention it to anyone and should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of Satan."
