حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، وَهُوَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ، أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْكَعْبَةَ، فَيَمْحُوَ كُلَّ صُورَةٍ فِيهَا " وَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْبَيْتَ حَتَّى مُحِيَتْ كُلُّ صُورَةٍ فِيهِ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) was at the place of Batha during the conquest of Makkah, he ordered Umar to go to the Ka'bah and erase all the pictures present in it, and he did not enter the Ka'bah until the pictures inside had been erased.
