حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، يَقُولُ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْمِي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، يَقُولُ: " لِتَأْخُذُوا مَنَاسِكَكُمْ، فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي أَنْ لَا أَحُجُّ (١) بَعْدَ حَجَّتِي هَذِهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (ﷺ) set out, he proceeded with calmness, but in the valley of Muhassir he quickened the pace of his mount. He showed them pebbles like date stones and instructed them to walk with calmness and dignity, and said: My Ummah should learn the rites of Hajj, for it may be that I will not meet them after this year.
