Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مِقْسَمٍ يَعْنِي عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مِقْسَمٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْبَحْرِ: " هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said regarding the sea: Its water is pure and its dead (fish) is lawful.
