حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، وَكَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: اشْتَكَيْتُ وَعِنْدِي سَبْعُ أَخَوَاتٍ لِي، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَضَحَ فِي وَجْهِي فَأَفَقْتُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أُوصِي لِأَخَوَاتِي بِالثُّلُثَيْنِ؟ قَالَ: " أَحْسِنْ " قُلْتُ: بِالشَّطْرِ؟ قَالَ: " أَحْسِنْ " قَالَ: ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَتَرَكَنِي، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ، فَقَالَ: " يَا جَابِرُ إِنِّي لَا أَرَاكَ مَيِّتًا مِنْ وَجَعِكَ هَذَا، فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ فَبَيَّنَ الَّذِي لِأَخَوَاتِكَ فَجَعَلَ لَهُنَّ الثُّلُثَيْنِ " قَالَ: فَكَانَ جَابِرٌ يَقُولُ: " نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِيَّ: {يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ اللهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلَالَةِ} [النساء: ١٧٦] " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I fell ill and I had seven sisters. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to visit me. I regained consciousness and said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I make a bequest of two-thirds for my sisters? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Adopt the better way. I asked about half; he again said the same. After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) left from there and then returned and said: Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), I do not think you will die from this illness. However, Allah Almighty has revealed a command which has determined the share of your sisters, that is, two-thirds. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the verse of Kalalah was revealed about me.
