حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ جَابِر بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: " بَلَغَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ، فَبَاعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَبْدَ بِثَمَانِ مِائَةٍ، (٢) وَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى مَوَالِيهِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) came to know that one of his companions had freed his mudabbar slave, and besides him, he had no other wealth. So the Prophet (ﷺ) sold that slave for eight hundred dirhams and handed him over to his master.
