حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " النَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ، فَخِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: People are like mines of gold and silver; those who were the best in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance are the best in Islam as well, provided they gain understanding of the religion.
