Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we set out with the Prophet (ﷺ) with the intention of Hajj, and we had no other intention except Hajj. When we reached the place of Sarif, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) began her menstrual period. The Prophet (ﷺ) came to Sayyidah Aisha and found her weeping. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked her the reason for her crying, and she replied, "I am crying because my period has started." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "This is something Allah has decreed for all the daughters of Adam." We reached Makkah Mukarramah on the fourth of Dhul-Hijjah, performed Tawaf of the House of Allah, and did Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and by the command of the Prophet (ﷺ), we became completely halal (came out of the state of Ihram). Some people began to say, "We set out only with the intention of Hajj, we had no other intention except Hajj. When only four days remained between us and Arafat, this command came. Does this mean that when we proceed towards Arafat, impure drops will be dripping from our private parts?" When the Prophet (ﷺ) learned of this, he delivered a sermon and said: "Umrah has been included in Hajj. If I had known beforehand what I came to know later, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal with me, and if I did not have the sacrificial animal with me, I too would have become halal. Therefore, whoever does not have the sacrificial animal should become halal." And Suraqah bin Malik came to the Prophet (ﷺ) at the time of stoning Jamrah Aqabah and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Is this command specific to this year or forever?" He replied: "This command is forever." Then we reached Arafat, and after returning from there, Sayyidah Aisha said, "O Messenger of Allah! You all are returning with both Hajj and Umrah, while I am returning with only Hajj." The Prophet (ﷺ) instructed her brother Abdur Rahman to take her to Tan'eem, so Sayyidah Aisha performed Umrah in Dhul-Hijjah after Hajj, and after performing Umrah from Tan'eem, she returned.
