Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ،، ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ عَرْشَ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ، فَيَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ، فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ، أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Iblis places his throne upon the water, then he sends out his troops. The one among them who causes the greatest tribulation is the closest to him in proximity.
