Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ) and pledged allegiance on his blessed hand. After some time, he suffered from a very high fever. He came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "Please annul my pledge of allegiance." The Prophet (ﷺ) refused. This happened three times. The fourth time, he did not come. The Prophet (ﷺ) inquired, and the companions informed him that he had left Madinah. Upon this, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Madinah is like a furnace; it removes impurities and makes the good thing bright and clean."
