Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a woman along with his companions. She slaughtered a goat and prepared food for them. When the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by there on his return, she said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have prepared food for you, so please come inside and partake of the meal." The Prophet (ﷺ) went to her house with his companions. The companions had the habit of not extending their hands before the Prophet (ﷺ) began. The Prophet (ﷺ) took a morsel but could not swallow it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "This goat has been slaughtered without the permission of its owner." The woman said, "O Messenger of Allah! We do not observe any formality with the family of Sa'd bin Mu'adh, nor do they with us. We take their things and they take ours."
