حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا، أَسَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يَسْرِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ "؟ قَالَ جَابِرٌ: لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَمْرٍو (١) أَنَّهُ قَدْ سَمِعَهُ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Zubair says that I asked Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) whether he had heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say that when a person is committing adultery, he is not a believer at that time, and when a person is stealing, he is not a believer at that time. He replied that I myself have not heard this hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ), but Ibn Umar has informed me that he heard this hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ).
