Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ، وَإِنِّي أَشْتَرِطُ عَلَى رَبِّي أَيَّ عَبْدٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَتَمْتُهُ، أَوْ سَبَبْتُهُ، أَنْ يَكُونَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ زَكَاةً وَأَجْرًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I am also a human being, and I have taken a promise from my Lord that if any harsh words come out of my mouth regarding a Muslim, they will become a means of purification and reward for him.
