حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْمَدِينَةُ يَتْرُكُهَا أَهْلُهَا وَهِيَ مُرْطِبَةٌ "، قَالَوا: فَمَنْ يَأْكُلُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " السِّبَاعُ، وَالْعَائِفُ " (٢) ، قَالَ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ: فَحُدِّثْتُ أَنَّ أَبَا بِشْرٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ فِي كِتَابِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A time will come when the inhabitants of Madinah will leave it, even though at that time Madinah will be like a well sitting among salty wells." The companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Then who will inhabit it?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Wild beasts and vultures."
