حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا، أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ؟ فَقَالَ: " نَعَمْ، وَرَبِّ (١) هَذَا الْبَيْتِ "، فَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Muhammad bin ‘Abbad once asked Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about this issue: Did the Prophet (ﷺ) forbid fasting on Friday? He replied: Yes! By the Lord of this house.
