حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنُصِيبُ مِنَ الْقَصْرِيِّ (٢) وَمِنْ كَذَا، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا، أَوْ لِيُحْرِثْهَا أَخَاهُ، وَإِلَّا فَلْيَدَعْهَا " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), we used to give land on sharecropping, from which we would get unripe and other dates, but the Prophet (ﷺ) said that whoever has land should cultivate it himself or allow his brother to do so, otherwise he should leave it (and not give it on rent).
