Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) delivered a sermon to us, and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: The truest word is the Book of Allah, the best way is the way of Muhammad, the worst things are newly invented matters, and every innovation is misguidance. Then, as he began to mention the Day of Judgment, his voice grew louder and louder. Then he said: The Hour has come upon you; I and the Hour have been sent like this—saying this, the Prophet (ﷺ) gestured with his index and middle fingers. The Hour will come upon you in the morning or in the evening. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind debt or children, it is my responsibility.
