حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ (١) جَابِرًا يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فَأَيْنَ أَنَا؟ قَالَ: " فِي الْجَنَّةِ "، فَأَلْقَى تَمَرَاتٍ كُنَّ فِي يَدِهِ، فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ، وَقَالَ غَيْرُ عَمْرٍو: تَخَلَّى (٢) مِنْ طَعَامِ الدُّنْيَا (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud, a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "If I am martyred, where will I go?" He replied, "To Paradise." Upon hearing this, the man put aside the dates he had in his hand and leapt into the battlefield until he attained martyrdom.
