حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا تَزَوَّجْتُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " هَلْ اتَّخَذْتُمْ أَنْمَاطًا؟ "، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنَّى لَنَا أَنْمَاطٌ، قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ "، وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لِامْرَأَتِي: نَحِّي عَنِّي نَمَطَكِ، فَتَقُولُ: أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when I got married, the Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Do you have woolen clothes?" I replied, "O Messenger of Allah! How could we have any!" He said, "Soon you will surely get woolen clothes." Now today, when I have received them, I say to my wife, "Keep your woolen clothes with you," but she says, "Did not the Prophet (ﷺ) say that you would get woolen clothes?" (Hearing this, I leave her to her own condition.)
