حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: بِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعِيرًا (١) فِي سَفَرٍ، فَلَمَّا أَتَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " ائْتِ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ "، ثُمَّ وَزَنَ لِي - قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: أَوْ أَمَرَ فَوُزِنَ لِي -، فَأَرْجَحَ لِي، فَمَا زَالَ عِنْدِي مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ حَتَّى أَصَابَهَا أَهْلُ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ الْحَرَّةِ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that during a journey, I sold my camel to the Prophet (ﷺ). Upon returning to Madinah Munawwarah, the Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Go and perform two rak‘ahs in the mosque and then come back." Then he ordered that I be given the money by weight, and he had it weighed generously. And I always had something left from it, even though during the days of Harrah, the people of Syria took it away.
