حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ح وَحَجَّاجٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ (١) بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: " دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا وَجِعٌ لَا أَعْقِلُ "، قَالَ: " فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَيَّ - أَوْ قَالَ: صَبُّوا عَلَيَّ - فَعَقَلْتُ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّهُ لَا يَرِثُنِي إِلَّا كَلَالَةٌ، فَكَيْفَ الْمِيرَاثُ؟ قَالَ: فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْفَرْضِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to me while I was so ill that I was unconscious. The Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution and either poured that water over me or ordered it to be poured over me. I regained consciousness and said: Among my heirs, there is no one except "kalalah" (distant relatives); how will the inheritance be distributed? Upon this, the verse regarding the distribution of inheritance was revealed.
