حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، أَنَّهُ: سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قَدْ تُوُفِّيَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ مِنَ الْحَبَشِ أصحمة (١) ، هَلُمَّ فَصُفُّوا "، قَالَ: فَصَفَفْنَا، فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ (٢) وَنَحْنُ، (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said one day: "Today, a righteous man from Abyssinia (the king of Abyssinia, Najashi) has passed away. Come, form rows." So we formed rows, and along with the Prophet (ﷺ), we offered his funeral prayer.
