حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ح وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ نَهَارًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُوَ بِالْبَقِيعِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا خَمَّرْتَهُ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا "، " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Abu Humayd Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) brought some milk in a vessel early in the morning to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) was at that time in Jannat al-Baqi'. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Why did you not cover it? Even if you had covered it with a stick."
