حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّهُ: سَمِعَ ابْنَيْ جَابِرٍ، يُحَدِّثَانِ عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا، قَالَ: بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ، شَقَّ قَمِيصَهُ حَتَّى خَرَجَ مِنْهُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ، ، فَقَالَ: " وَاعَدْتُهُمْ يُقَلِّدُونَ هَدْيِي (١) الْيَوْمَ، فَنَسِيتُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting with his companions when suddenly he tore his shirt and took it off. Someone asked about this, so he replied that he had made a promise to the people that today they would put a collar around the neck of the sacrificial animal, but he had forgotten it.
