Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ:، ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْأَنْصَارِ: " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَجِدُونَ أَثَرَةً شَدِيدَةً، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، فَإِنِّي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ ". قَالُوا: سَنَصْبِرُ، (١) قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ وَأَخْفَاهُ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to the Ansar: "Soon after me, you will see many people being given preference over you, but you should remain patient until you meet Allah and His Messenger, for I will be waiting for you at my pond." They said, "We will be patient."
