حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ - يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -: " لَا تُوَاصِلُوا " قَالُوا: فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not observe continuous fasting for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! You do it this way?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: I am not like you in this matter; my Lord gives me food and drink.
