حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُوسَى بْنَ أَنَسٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ اشْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّوَانِي، فَأَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَدْعُوَ لَهُمْ أَوْ يَحْفِرَ لَهُمْ نَهْرًا، فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: " لَا يَسْأَلُونِي الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أُعْطُوهُ ". فَأُخْبِرَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ بِذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا مَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالُوا: ادْعُ اللهَ لَنَا بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ، فَقَالَ: "، ، اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ، وَلِأَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَلِأَبْنَاءِ أَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the matter of water among the Ansar became very complicated. They gathered together and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the request that they be allowed to take water from a running canal; they would pay its rent, or he should pray for them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Welcome to the Ansar! By Allah! Today, whatever you ask of me, I will give you." Hearing this, they said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Please pray to Allah for our forgiveness." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, the children of the Ansar, and the children of the children of the Ansar."
