حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ بَصْرِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ زُنَيْبٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ: (٢) إِنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ مُعَاذًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَيْنَا أُمَرَاءُ لَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِكَ، وَلَا يَأْخُذُونَ بِأَمْرِكَ،، ، فَمَا تَأْمُرُ فِي أَمْرِهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يُطِعِ اللهَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the court of the Messenger (ﷺ): O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Please tell me, if our rulers become such people who do not act upon your Sunnah and do not act upon your command, then what do you say about them? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever does not obey Allah should not be obeyed.
