حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا فَنُحِبُّ الْإِثْمَانَ، فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكُمْ؟ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكُمْ، فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ، إِلَّا هِيَ (١) خَارِجَةٌ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) when an Ansari man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! We have obtained captives, and we wish to release them for ransom, so what is your opinion regarding 'azl (withdrawal)?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do you do that? If you do not do so, it will not make any difference, because the soul whom Allah has decided to bring into existence will surely come into existence."
