حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ، أَنَّهُ قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مُؤْمِنٌ يُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ " فَقَالُوا: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: " مُؤْمِنٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ يَتَّقِي اللهَ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "Who is the best among the people?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "A believer who strives in the way of Allah with his life and wealth." The questioner asked, "Who is after him?" He replied, "A believer who lives in any locality, fears Allah, and keeps people safe from his harm."
