حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقَالَ: " مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بُدٌّ مِنَ الْوِصَالِ فَلْيُوَاصِلْ مِنَ السَّحَرِ إِلَى، ، السَّحَرِ "، قِيلَ (١) : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ لي (٢) مُطْعِمٌ يُطْعِمُنِي، وَسَاقٍ يَسْقِينِي " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: Whoever wishes to observe continuous fasting with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor), let him do so until suhoor. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! You observe continuous fasting in this manner?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself gives me food and drink."
