حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ (١) بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَ صَيَّادٍ وَهُوَ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ، قَالَ: " أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ؟ " قَالَ هُوَ: أَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قَدْ خَبَأْتُ لَكَ خَبِيئًا (٢) " قَالَ: دُخٌّ. قَالَ: " اخْسَأْ، فَلَنْ تَعْدُوَ قَدْرَكَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Ibn Sayyad while he was playing with the children. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He turned and asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "Do you bear witness that I am the messenger of Allah?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have thought of something in my mind for you, tell me what it is?" He said, "Dukh." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Go away, you will never be able to go beyond your position."
