حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ الْخَيَّاطُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ فُلَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَوْ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: " الْمَيِّتُ يَعْرِفُ مَنْ يُغَسِّلُهُ، وَيَحْمِلُهُ، وَيُدَلِّيهِ "، قَالَ: فَقُمْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَمَرَّ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ (١) : مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ؟ قَالَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the deceased recognizes even those who carry him, bathe him, and lower him into the grave. The narrator says that I got up from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) and went to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him of this. Coincidentally, Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) also passed by there, so Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him, "From whom did you hear this hadith?" He replied, "From the Prophet (ﷺ)."
