حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ (٢) الْحَبَشِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْغَافِرِ يَقُولُ:، ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ: جَاءَ بِلَالٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمْرٍ، فَقَالَ: " مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكَ هَذَا؟ " فَقَالَ: كَانَ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ رَدِيءٌ فَبِعْتُهُ بِهَذَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَوَّهْ عَيْنُ الرِّبَا، عَيْنُ الرِّبَا، فَلَا تَقْرَبَنَّهُ، وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ، بِمَا شِئْتَ ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ (١) بِهِ مَا بَدَا لَكَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) brought some dates to the service of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) found something unusual about the matter, so he asked him, "Where did you get these from?" He replied, "I exchanged two sa’ of inferior dates for one sa’ of these good dates." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Oh! This is pure usury, do not go near it. Rather, first sell your own dates, then with that price buy whatever you wish."
