حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي قَدْ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ مَا إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي، الثَّقَلَيْنِ، وَأَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ: كِتَابُ اللهِ حَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ، وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلُ بَيْتِي، أَلَا وَإِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا، (٢) حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I am leaving among you two important things, one of which is greater than the other; one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging from the sky to the earth, and the other is my Ahl al-Bayt. These two things will not separate from each other until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.
